Privacy policy

The Göbekli Tepe Guide is an independent educational website. It does not sell anything, host user accounts, or run a marketplace. Our aim with this policy is to be honest and concise about the limited data the site handles.

What we collect

• Server logs. Like almost every website, our web server records standard technical information when a page is requested — such as the IP address making the request, the page visited, the date and time, and the browser's user-agent string. These logs help keep the site secure and running, and are retained only for a limited period.
• Optional, privacy-respecting analytics. We may use a lightweight analytics tool to understand which pages are useful, measured in aggregate. Where used, it is configured to respect your privacy — without invasive cross-site tracking — and is not used to build advertising profiles of you.

What we do not collect

• No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for, and we do not ask you to create a login.
• No payments. No purchases are made on this site, so we do not collect or store any payment details.
• No selling of data. We do not sell or rent any information about visitors.

Third parties

To display the site's typography, we load web fonts from a third-party font provider (a font content delivery network). When fonts are fetched, that provider necessarily receives standard request information such as your IP address. Any analytics provider we use likewise processes limited technical data on our behalf. We keep third-party services to a minimum.

Cookies

This site is built to function without intrusive tracking cookies. Any analytics we use is chosen to minimise or avoid such cookies.
